And a thought...
What can Rotary do in the face of such overwhelming need?
“To this I answer, we must do what we can, where we are, with what we have. We must make the best possible use of our resources, where they can do the most good. We must identify needs that we can realistically meet, and invest the care and planning to make sure that our service is successful. And we must steward our Rotary Foundation well, so that we will be able to help the greatest number of people possible, in the ways that make the greatest difference.”
PRIP Glenn Estess
Chairman of the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation

Rotary District 6900 SuperConference!
April 22-25, 2010
Wow! Jim Laney just signed on to speak at the SuperConference. Dr. Laney is an Atlanta Rotarian and former president of Emory University. His topic, "Why We are Rotarians". Dr. Laney joins Rotary Foundation Chair and PRIP Glenn Estess, CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden, GSU professor Dr. Paul Voss (on Ethics), and a yet-to-be-announced speaker. The speakers alone are worth the price of admission!
Some months ago, we announced a fun theme for the SuperConference . . . Rotary Rocks! We intend to have fun with that theme. I want you to know, though, that we will be celebrating a year of great accomplishment and this conference will be about the clubs and their service- and about The Goodness of Rotary.
As we have traveled the District and as we have seen your projects and your responses to disasters in our District and in our Zone, I have been struck by the Goodness of Rotary and the Goodness of Rotarians. We will try to highlight that Goodness at the SuperConference and we will feature the wonderful humanitarian and educational good works of our clubs and of Rotary clubs around the world.
This is a magnificent organization doing vital good works. We will tell that story and you will learn something about Rotary every day. I promise you good value and great Rotary fellowship.
