Rotary Club of North Cobb Name:  Hicks Malonson Club: North Cobb Title: School Supply Closet Started: 2005 Avenue: Community/new Generations Description: $250 Is Budgeted To Purchase "wish List" Items For A Local Elementary School That Lacks Parental Involvement. Club Members Are Also Asked To Purchase Needed Supplies To Be Used By The School Nurse And Teachers For Students Without Necessary Supplies. Items Range From Pencils And Notebooks To A Glucose Meter And Sweat Pants. This Particular School Has A Transient Population And Minimal Parental Involvement. Benefit: Preparing Children To Learn And Taking The Burden Off Of Teachers. Kids Will Want To Attend School If They Know They Have The Tools Needed. When Approved, The Project Is Funded With $200 To Assist With The Costs Incurred By The Scout. Benefit: The Scouts Learn Presentation And Fund Raising Skills And The Community Benefits From The Scout's Efforts. We Also Introduce The Scouts To Rotary And Our Activities That Are Similar To Those In Scouting.
